Must-Have Yoga Props for Doing Yoga at Home

Ok so maybe these aren’t “must-have” yoga props but they are super useful if you do yoga at home!

I teach yoga online via my yoga and wellness membership for women over 40, Bloom, and I’m always using yoga props in my classes!

Yoga props just make certain yoga poses more accessible, more comfortable and more fun!

Here are some of my favourite yoga props.

Yoga props are amazing tools, especially for women over 40 who are starting to feel less flexible and mobile.

Using yoga props for yoga at home makes each pose more accessible and enjoyable.

As our bodies change, props like blocks, straps, and bolsters help adapt the practice to our needs.

For example, in a standing forward fold, placing your hands on a block can ease tight hamstrings and provide much-needed support.

Whether you're a beginner or seasoned practitioner, a home yoga practice can be enhanced with these small but mighty additions.

Yoga props for doing yoga at home also make the practice safer and more effective.

They help with alignment, stability, and muscle engagement, which is key for building strength.

Doing yoga as a woman over 40 means meeting your body where it’s at, and props are an excellent way to do that.

By using yoga props as tools in your practice, you can confidently practice without worrying about discomfort or injury.

Props also elevate the relaxation side of yoga at home.

Bolsters, blankets, and even cushions create a cozy environment for restorative poses and savasana.

In poses like supported bridge pose, blocks can make the pose feel super yummy and restorative.

Especially if you’re starting to struggle with peri/post menopause symptoms, Yoga is a chance to slow down and prioritize self-care.

Props make this time even more nurturing, allowing you to release tension and recharge.

Adding yoga props for yoga at home ensures that your practice is both supportive and rejuvenating.
