How Yoga Relieved My Joint Pain

Today, I want to share how yoga changed my life when it came to managing joint pain!

Seriously changed my life!

Flashback to a time when I spent hours in a dance studio, my knees hurt, a lot.

I had constant knee pain.

I tried yoga as an alternative to dance as I wanted a type of exercise that was gentler on my knees.

I started my yoga journey mainly due to joint pain.

I started doing yoga back in the early 2000s, not super seriously, just once in a while at first.

Then I became a certified yoga teacher while living in New York to learn more about yoga rather than intending to teach.

The more I studied and did yoga myself, I realized that yoga was much more than a physical practice.

But yoga also showed me that I could still enjoy moving my body but without knee pain!

Fast forward to today, I’m now passionate about teaching yoga for joint pain.

It saved me.

I share this with you because I believe in the healing power of yoga.

I've now done numerous additional trainings including Yoga for Arthritis, Restorative Yoga and Yoga for Stress. I'm a lifelong yoga student. I'm also now certified in Pilates and as a Reiki practitioner.

The super cool thing is that yoga is so much more than a way to relieve joint pain.

It is amazing for stress relief, managing menopause symptoms, helping with sleep issues, helping develop mindfulness, and so much more!

The key is to develop a "regular" yoga practice, whatever that means to you, even if it's just doing yoga for a few minutes a couple of times a week!

Here's a link to my blog post about developing a home yoga practice.
