Back Pain? There’s Good News!

My feet were tingling and feeling like someone was pinching the ends of my toes! Who knew this was a back issue?

Well apparently is was!

A nerve in my lower back was being irritated which was affecting my feet. 😳

My Physical Therapist (PT) basically prescribed lots of cobras (gentle back bends).

As we women get older, our spines naturally age and deteriorate. But that doesn’t mean you have to have back pain!

Lots of people have disc degeneration and no symptoms!

That’s my goal for myself and for you!

If you're having these sensations or other odd sensations in your legs, feet or toes, I'd definitely suggest checking them out with a doctor or PT.

As a yoga teacher, I know that yoga can help with back pain and other related back issues.

And there's lots of scientific evidence to support this.

Research Evidence for Yoga and Back Pain

"University researchers published their study outcomes in the Annals of Internal Medicine. The study involved 320 adults with chronic low back pain from ...varied racial backgrounds. The outcomes revealed the participants in the yoga and physical therapy groups showed similar improvement in low back pain and activity. These 2 groups were shown to be less likely to use pain medications after 3 months of study participation."¹ Read full article here.

I've read several other studies supporting yoga as an effective treatment for back pain and related back issues.

Of course, this totally depends on what's going on with you specifically.

So it's always important to check with your doctor/PT first.
