Want To Strengthen Your Knees?

Want to strengthen your knees?

Try Chair pose!

As we get older, many women over 40 start to complain about achy knees!

Chair pose, also known as Utkatasana in yoga, offers numerous benefits for women over 40.

Here are five key benefits:

Strengthens leg muscles: Chair pose primarily targets the muscles in your thighs, hips, and calves. Regular practice can help strengthen these areas, which is particularly beneficial for women over 40 as it can enhance stability and balance.

Tones the glutes: Chair pose engages the gluteal muscles, helping to tone and firm the buttocks. This is great for us women over 40 as it helps to keep our legs and knees strong!

Improves posture: By promoting an upright and extended spine, chair pose can improve posture. This is crucial for women over 40, as maintaining good posture can help prevent or alleviate back pain and promote overall spinal health.

Enhances core strength: Chair pose requires engaging the core muscles to maintain balance and stability. Regular practice can strengthen the abdominal muscles, which can be particularly beneficial for women as it supports a healthy spine.

Stimulates circulation: Holding chair pose activates and energizes the lower body which can help to improve blood circulation.

Overall, Chair pose gently strengthens the muscles supporting your knees as well as strengthens your feet, ankles, and core muscles - it does a lot of things!

Chair pose is also safe and accessible to most people including those with knee pain.

Our knees are super complicated joints and take a lot of stress every day!

Keeping our legs strong is key to preventing and or managing our knee pain!
