One Easy Yoga Pose to Strengthen Your Core

If you have back pain, one of the best ways to reduce or relieve back pain is to strengthen your core.

In this short yoga video, I’m showing you one easy yoga pose to strengthen your core in five minutes a day or less!

As a yoga teacher, I specialize in teaching yoga to women over 40 especially those with joint pain or arthritis.  

Why should we care about our core strength?

As we women get older, it becomes even more important to keep keep our core muscles strong to support our lower back as well as to help prevent or manage back, hip and knee pain.

Having a strong core also helps our posture and our balance – so important as we get older!

 A strong core also helps us to breathe better by allowing us to open up our chest and front body.

Yoga is great for strengthening our core especially as we women get older

The good news is strengthening our core doesn’t have to be hard! We really can strengthen our cores in five minutes every day or less, every little bit counts!

In this video, I’m showing you how to do boat pose which, as with many poses in yoga, you can do in a variety of different ways.

There are quite a few different variations and modifications of boat pose that if you are challenged to do one variation of boat pose I’m pretty sure you can do another variation.

I'm showing three or four different variations of boat pose all of which are great for strengthening our cores.

If you can’t get down on the floor, you can even do boat pose on your bed!
