Gentle Yoga Helps Women With Joint Pain

Studies show that gentle yoga is effective in helping women with joint pain.

As a 40+ woman who suffers from knee and hip pain, I know how frustrating joint pain can be!

Gentle yoga helps to strengthen the muscles supporting our achy joints.

That’s one of the main reasons I created Bloom - specifically to help 40+ women with joint pain.

Bloom is my Yoga and Wellness online membership for 40+ women.

Membership includes 3 weekly live yoga classes on Zoom, unlimited access to on-demand yoga, healthy recipes, special wellness events and more, all in a supportive community of likeminded women.

If you’re a woman over 40 struggling with joint pain, then Bloom is for you!

If you've been thinking about joining us in Bloom, I bet you have some questions.

Here are some of the questions I often get about Bloom so hopefully I'm answering yours too.

Q? Why should I join Bloom?

If you’re struggling with stress and anxiety, Bloom is for you! Yoga has been proven to help relieve stress and anxiety through its emphasis on mindful movement and breathing.

If you've been struggling with annoying joint aches and pains, Bloom is for you! One of the best things you can do for stiff and achy muscles is gentle movement.

If you’ve been meaning to be more active but just need a little help/motivation and a supportive community, Bloom is for you!

If you want to be supported by a community of women who understand what you're going through, Bloom is for you!

Q? What type of yoga classes are included?

Bloom now includes 3 live classes a week on Zoom.

These are Tuesdays at 5:30 pm, Wednesdays 4:30 pm and Thursdays at 11 am, all Eastern/Jamaica time.

Thursday's class is a chair yoga class that includes both seated and standing poses and is great for those challenged to get up and down from the floor.

My library of on-demand yoga classes includes yoga videos of different lengths (ranging from 3 minutes to 75 minutes).

I know we sometimes don't have a lot of time but still want to fit some yoga into our day!

I also cover a range of different themes including yoga for various types of joint pains: yoga for knee, hip, back pains and yoga for core strength.

My goal is to provide classes of different types and lengths appropriate to all levels including beginners, those just coming back to yoga and also for those who've been doing yoga for while.

The library has

  • yoga for beginners

  • yoga for joint pain focusing on different parts of the body

  • yoga for stress relief

  • yoga for strength

  • yoga flow to get moving (slow flow vinyasa)

  • restorative yoga

  • chair yoga

  • meditations + more!

And if it's not there, let me know and I'll create it for you!

Q? What kind of wellness events are there?

I have regular live wellness events on Zoom with some type of wellness practitioner/expert.

So far we've had:

  • a clinical psychologist talk about managing stress

  • a physiotherapist talk about managing joint pain

  • a nutritionist talk about menopause and nutrition

  • a personal trainer lead us in a strength training work out

  • an art therapy workshop

  • a yoga therapist talk about yoga’s mind/body connection

Replays of all Bloom events are in the Bloom library if you can't attend live.

Q? What if Bloom is not for me?

If Bloom is not for you, no problem, you can cancel anytime!

But I’m really hoping to make Bloom perfect for you.

Hopefully this helps you if you’ve had some questions about joining us.

If your question isn’t answered here though, then just email me at Karinyogalife@gmail.com.
